Goals of the Heart

This weekend was an adventure in goal achievements.  I am not talking about a new years resolutions or a passive attempt at something life changing, I am talking about goals of the heart.  Learn a new language, hike a beautiful mountain trail, learn to cook, talk to Jesus, walk/run 3 miles daily, start a new business . . . .  Working daily to achieve a goal, physical or not, is healthy.

We are never to old to achieve our goals, academic, athletic, big or small.

My youngest brother Justin, has been successful in spite of the many hardships he has endured over the years.  He has a pile of friends that he has known since childhood.  They have been friends for so long that I now consider them part of the family.

This weekend, our large, extended family came together to celebrate Justin's most recent academic achievement.  Clayton, Dylan and I drove from the desert of NV to the beaches of CA to watch Justin walk the isle and receive his high school diploma.

Justin has been successfully working and making good money but his hearts desire was to have that piece of paper, that certificate of accomplishment and we were all excited to be witness.

The celebrations continued through the weekend as we ate breakfast together, walked the beach together and made life long memories.

The graduate and his family!
